China Earthquake 2008 & Reconstruction

12 May 2008. 2.28pm. Over 69,000 dead. 5 million homeless. 4000 children orphaned.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the survivors and those who have lost loved ones in the earthquake that struck Wenchuan in Sichuan Province and all affected areas.

Designed to raise awareness, these are some images of the immediate aftermath of the quake, the heroic rescue services battling to save lives and the rapidly formed volunteer effort to help survivors, provided by friends.
