Change is good...
The end of the marriage of Peter Parker and Mary Jane. I happen to agree with Editor in Chief, Joe Quesada, that having the character married limited the stories you could tell and took him too far from his original concept. A concept so good and simple that countless generations can enjoy it. The way the marriage was dissolved is the particular bone of contention. It involved a deal with Mephisto. The devil demon of the Marvel Universe. I say that's just one of the things that makes Marvel marvel. Anything can happen and with the wealth of characters at their disposal it's all part of the magic. That story arc was called One More Day. It paved the way for a new era of amazing Spider-Man tales dubbed Brand New Day. A perfect jumping on point for new readers with quality creators behind the wheel including Dan Slott and Steve McNiven. It's all about good stories and that's what I love.
