Recently had a chance to read the Marvel Comics Annihilation graphic novel and it's sequel, Annihilation Conquest. I found Annihilation ok but a little incohesive as a great epic. There were gems however. The relaunch of Nova by writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning (DnA) and Ronan the Accuser were notable highlights. I give it overall 6 out of 10. The sequel Conquest was a joy to read from start to finish. The individual mini-series and the main event fit together well as a character driven story and I was genuinely surprised to see Warlock (Him), Ultron and the High Evolutionary. Starlord was fantastic and the event led to the creation of a new Guardians of the Galaxy series. This event was expertly masterminded by DnA and gets an 8 out of 10 from me.
From the recent X-Infernus mini series. Art by David Finch. Illyana Rasputin of the X-Men © & ™ Marvel Comics.
Check out this feature length episode of X-Men Evolution featuring Storm! A creative masterpiece from Marvel Comics. Sit back and enjoy.
A Child of the Atom. An Adamantium Powerhouse. The best there is at what he does. Meet Wolverine, one of the most popular Marvel Comics' X-Men characters of all time, in his first solo movie!
And now, for something completely different! The feature length first episode!
A good friend recently told me about this cool RnB song called Let it Go by Taali. She is definitely one to watch for the future. What a great voice! Check it out, here.
She also told me about this quality song, Dancehall Rocks by Don-e. Have a listen and relax to the sweet melodies.
Just added a video I made at the London Fiddle Convention of Pete Cooper and of the Jam Session that took place there. Great fun it was too! Check it out here on GrowlersWorld TV!
I was invited to check out the Art Chinese exhibition that was part of the 20/21 International Art Fair. Held at the Royal College of Art it was next door to the Royal Albert Hall and opposite the stunning Albert Memorial in Kensington, London. It was the first time I've been to an Art Fair and basically it's where artists display their artwork for sale. The UK based exhibitors showcase work from all over the world. The creative energy displayed in the works was clear to see and it was refreshing to be in that environment. I also took the opportunity to take photos of the Royal Albert Hall and the Albert Memorial (which were both built for Queen Victoria) and I'll be putting them in the London Photos sections of this site. All in all, a good day.
Wow!! Just wow!!
I've been spreading the GrowlersWorld love on Twitter, right here; http://twitter.com/growlersworld If no one knows you exist, they won't know all the goodness they're missing out on! Or something like that.
Marvel Comics are bringing out a video game featuring many of their most popular characters in a storyline based on the recent best selling Civil War storyline. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is a sequel to the amazing game where you controlled some of their top characters and journeyed through a series of challenging missions set in the Marvel Universe. The thing I like about Marvel Comics is their continuous dedication to creativity which is used to keep their characters alive and relevant in ever changing times. Very inspirational. Check out this cool trailer to see more!
