A long awaited return to form in this end of season Doctor Who two-parter. I can't believe it actually referenced the one episode that I missed! The Queen Victoria/Were-wolf episode. Great build up, great drama and fantastic action. Not so sure about the Doctor's 3D glasses though... Daleks and Cybermen. This more like it. Bring on next week!!!!!!!
I can't believe it! Despite the heroics after Rooney was sent off, we fell short again at the penalty shoot out. And so Sven's reign comes to an end. Some hard questions need to be asked as we prepare for Euro 2008. And we need to practice penalties.
England v Portugal 4pm BBC1 Nuff said!!!
Looks good! http://www.newsarama.com/movies/Spider_Man3/SpiderMan3trailer.html Out in 2007
Quarter Finals here we come. What a game! Ecuador hardly showed up and we got even better in the second half. A good performance by all and it's always good when we bend it like Beckham. Quality football and I'm happy. Great stuff!!!
What a week of football it's been! Brazil are finding their form and Ronaldo scored. They still don't look at their best but the flashes of brilliance are all there. Ghana and Australia got through to the second round. Both amazing feats for each team. Ghana will face the might of Brazil and they might just give them a run for their money. And then England. We always fight it out and dig deep when it matters. Michael Owen badly injured his knee in the first minute and was subsequently out of the World Cup. Then the game, with Sweden, produced two sublime goals from our boys. Joe Cole's exquisite volley, Marcus Allback's equaliser and Steven Gerrard's header. But, at the last moment Sweden equalised with a goal from Henrik Larsson. We have to sort out our defence and cope better with set plays near the goal. The game was drawn 2 - 2 and we still haven't beaten Sweden for 38 years! Still, we avoided Germany who mullered Sweden yesterday 2 - 0. The Germans are looking mighty strong and being on home soil is clearly an advantage. Of course, I can't forget Argentina last night. What a match! Mexico put up a good fight and scored first after 5 minutes, but a slight lack of discipline created an own goal which equalised and let the Argentines back in the game. It went to extra time and Argentina scored a fantastic wonder goa1! This means they now face Germany in the quarter finals. Sweet. And so today. We face Ecuador before we can reach the quarter-finals. Can Sven lead us to glory? Will he try Theo Walcott at some stage? Only time will tell. 4 O'Clock kick off. You know you'll be there!
Ok, I know I said that so far, the first season is shaping up to be better than the second but they didn't have to prove me right!!! Another so-so episode which was more like X-Files than Gallifreyan adventures. The one glaring plot hole was when those thousands of people had disappeared from the main stadim, the coverage of the Olympic torch runner kept going, without a care in the world. Everything should have stopped to convey the total shock and panic of the situation. And don't get me started about the Council... Aside from some strong performances from the girl and her mum the best bit about the episode was the preview of next weeks two part finale. It looks fantastic!!! And tragic... I sincerely hope next season focuses more on the sci-fi drama aspect of the show.
For me it would have to be, 1) Guyana - In South America bordering Brazil and Venezuela. A truly beautiful country and yes, I'm a little biased because that's where my family originate from. 2) England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland because I've travelled far and wide abroad but haven't seen most of my own backyard. The beauty and sense of history is just fantastic and my camera would just eat it all up. 2) China - Always had a great love for the country and aim to see most of it in my lifetime. 3) Ghana - (in fact, most African countries) just to see the beauty of it that I've only seen on TV. I'm a massive scenery geek (for want of a better word. 4) India - Seen and heard so much about it so it would be a joy to experience it in the flesh, so to speak. 5) Greece - (in fact most European countries) Again for the sense of history and classic nature of it.
