Lu
Qin Ming (English name James Lu) is living in China and is keen
to do business with the world.
I
spoke to him to find out more about his life.
Rawle
Austin: What is the meaning of your Chinese name?
Lu Qin Ming: My first name is Lu, which means the
mainland and my second name is Qinming, which means the industrial
or diligent person that my parents proposed when I was born years
ago.
RA: Where is your hometown and what is it's name?
LQM:
My hometown is Guhe town which is located in Chuzhou city, Anhui
province.
RA: Can you describe your hometown?
|
|
 |
LQM: It's a beautiful and peaceful town with an old river
around it, Guhe river. It
has a population of about ten thousand people and the industry is not
as developed as that in south China. The
main products of the town come from agriculture.
RA:
Why did you leave your hometown?
LQM: Because I wish to have a better development in my
career.
RA:
Where did you go to university and what did you study?
LQM: I went to college in Anhui province and
I majored in Law and minored in English and Enterprise Management.
RA: Where are you working and living now?
LQM:
I'm now working and living in Shenzhen city.
RA: Where did you live and work before?
LQM: I lived and worked in Dongguan city before.
|
|
 |
RA:
What is your favourite food and why?
LQM: It's rice, which is our main food.
It's an eating
habit, and something of a tradition in China.
RA:
What makes you happy?
LQM: To achieve my life's goal or help other
people from poverty.
RA: What would you like to do if you were not working?
LQM:
I'd like to take a trip to all the countries in the world, write
a book about my experiences and share it with other people.
RA: Why do you like to do business?
|
|
 |
LQM:
Because business can meet the demands of people from different countries
or areas and improve their communication of culture, economy and politics
etc.
RA:
Can you talk about your previous work experience?
LQM: Well, in 1998, I got my first part time job as an
assistant lawyer at my college, and in the year 2000 I came to Dongguan
city and got my second job as an assistant to a General manager.
In this job I learnt some industrial technical knowledge of optical glass,
and I also learnt Enterprise Management.
Two
years later, I left for another position as a salesman dealing
with mainly products of hardware components which are assembled
on a telecommunication base station.
Two
years after that, I joined my present company as a senior salesman
selling mainly products of automotive metal parts.
RA: Why should people come to visit China?
LQM:
Because China is just becoming the largest consumption market
in the world because of it's large population and positive and
economic development trend.
RA:
Why do you like to learn English?
|
|
 |
LQM: It's both interesting and useful.
RA: What do you think about the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing?
LQM:
It will enhance the communication between China and other countries with
respect of sports, economy, culture etc, and foreign friends will know
more about Chinese at every field.
RA:
What do you know about London, England?
LQM: It's an old and beautiful city in England.
When
I was a young boy, I was reading a book called Double city, which
described some angles of this city.
Later,
when we read about world history, especially about the British
industrial revolution, we learnt more about this city.
Also,
from some political incidents that were mentioned in TV programs,
we learned about this city.
RA:
Can you introduce your family?
LQM:
My family includes my parents, my elder sister, my younger sister
and I.
|
|
 |
RA:
And finally, what would you like to say to everyone reading this interview?
LQM: We Chinese are just stepping into the world and
the world will know a more confident and diligent Chinese.
