Introducing Piotr Jordan and the amazing Balkan/Gypsy Jazz band, Dunajska Kapelye!

I first became aware of this amazing musical group while learning the violin with the London Late Starters Orchestra. I was already impressed by the infectious enthusiasum of my violin teacher, Piotr Jordan, so when I heard he was part of a band specialising in Balkan/Gypsy Jazz music, one of the most popular forms of violin music, I was suitably intrigued. The band plays regularly at the Vortex Jazz club in Dalston, London. I went with a fellow student to catch an evening performance. All I can say is WOW! What energy! What sweet sounds! Like a fined tuned machine all band members performed to perfection.

As this was my first taste of this musical style I took the opportunity to record some short snippets with my phone which I present to you below with permission.

Dunajska Kapelye is a fine example of practise making perfect and is just inspirational to see what can be achieved through hard work and perserverance.

Take it from me, learning the violin isn't easy and seeing Piotr play with a breathless ease was spellbinding.

I'm a firm believer that when you do what you love you will always do it well.

The passion will shine through.

Take your goals and dreams and pursue them wholeheartedly! Never give up.
