You can read her previous work here;

Makes for fascinating reading!

South Bank links...
Jul. 19th, 2006

Just added a new Education section the Links page and added a link to the London South Bank University Language Centre.

This was the place I first studied Mandarin Chinese back in 2000 for two years.

I'm interviewing the manager and the director of the Centre for The Growlersworld Interviews.

Look for that soon.

A reception with Rt Hon Hazel Blears MP...
Jul. 19th, 2006

Went to an event yesterday hosted by the Labour Party which basically invited representatives from the Ethnic Media to meet up and mingle with MPs (Members of Parliament) and local councillors and discuss issues and the ever changing media environment.

I went as a representative of Chinatown Magazine but, of course, had to represent Growlersworld.com.

Made a few contacts for interviews for the future, particularly Hazel Blears MP and David Lammy MP.

Also briefly spoke to Stephen Pound, MP for Ealing North, which was interesting.

Hit Count for Growlersworld.com
Jul. 4th, 2006

According to Webalizer who are affiliated to my web hosts my daily average number of hits in June 2006 was 439. Which is the highest ever.

http://www.mrunix.net/webalizer/

But, according to StatCounter.com, whose hit counter you see on my site, the daily average number of hits for June was 44.

http://www.statcounter.com/

So who's right?

I have to go with Webalizer as they are linked directly to my site, provided by my web host and list many more hits than StatCounter.

Stats are always available to potential advertisers on Growlersworld.com

I'll update the average daily hit counts every month.

China Pictures - Remixed!
Jul. 3rd, 2006

Due to the massive size of the Pictures of China album over at 'Growler's Travels & Entertainment' I've split it into four albums to increase download speed. (It was 1022 pictures after all!)

So now you can view to your heart's content!

Don't be shy, see the real China.

growlersworld.com/growlerstravelsandentertainment.htm - n/a

And also, I added a link to my pictures of China's Three Gorges dam and surroundings along the Yangtze River for your viewing pleasure.

It's at the bottom right of the right hand menu.

You may have heard about this wonder of nature but words fail to do it justice.

Feast your eyes!

This is the week that was...
Jul. 1st, 2006

A good week last week. On Wednesday I briefly interviewed Japanese film director Seijun Suzuki whose latest film is Princess Raccoon starring the one and only Zhang Ziyi.

He's 82 and has been making movies for 40 years! Look for the write up shortly.

And on Thursday I attended a seminar at the House of Commons on helping Chinese artists gain more exposure in the UK.

It was an interesting discussion with good points made that had David Lammy MP guest speaking and was chaired by Andrew Dismore MP.

Attended as part of Chinatown Magazine. Where better to put forward your case than in the Mother of all Parliaments.

Meanwhile, in Growlersworld.com...
