So.

What kind of films do I like anyway?

Upbeat and positive, mainly.

But you can't beat a good tragedy!

A great story is a given and cast performances can often make or break a film.

Case in point, Johnny Depp, Captain Jack Sparrow, in Pirates of the Caribbean took that film to a whole new level!

I lean towards Sci-Fi, fantasy, superhero and Chinese movies but not exclusively.

These are the types of films I'll be reviewing on Growlersworld.com.

I've put the article 'Why Growler's Loving Bollywood' on the front page to keep in line with the new film review focus.

I don't normally go for the horror genre in films but Dumplings, the screening I attended last Wednesday, was great!

Recommended, 8 out of 10.

Intial D: Driftracer on Monday and Dumplings on Wednesday. Will check them out after work.

Both are Hong Kong features and I'll do reviews on both for Chinatown Magazine which I'll reprint here on the Watching Dragon, Hidden Growler column.

The Sunday Times Rich List came out today. It's about the only time of the year I actually go out to buy a paper.

The Internet has a lot to answer for...

Makes for interesting reading and is quite inspirational and aspirational.

Lots of positive people doing their thing and getting paid for it.

And doing their bit to help others.

Great stuff!

And the Champions League edges ever closer.

After too many years of hurt and my £1 bet on Spurs to win the league in tatters for as long as I can remember (350 to 1 can't be bad!!) the pride is getting ever stronger.

I've still yet to go to a game so that will be an aim for next season.

And don't forget "Everybody will be singing, when the Spurs go marching on!!!" :)

So glad Henry started on the bench, cheers Arsene! ;)

Just have to mention that Dr Who, the cream of British Sci Fi drama, is back on our TV sets.

The first episode of the new season aired last Saturday.

A rather cool one it was too.

David Tennant was good and Billie Piper gave a good performance and was rather fit if I do say so myself.

I'm really liking these bittersweet endings too.

What do you mean you missed it?

Don't miss it!

Belatedly wishing all a happy Easter.

Watched Excalibur by John Boorman which is always a favourite.

Still amazed by the amount of acting talent in that film.

Patrick Stewart, Liam Neeson, Helen Mirren, Cheri Lunghi and Corin Redgrave to name a few.
