INDEX
Welcome
to my world. My English name is LeAnne.
I come from JiangXi Province in China and am now based in GuangDong Province.
I
would like to introduce you to a modern view of China from my unique and
personal point of view.
My
first year outside
I
have been in Guangdong province for more than one year, and as it
was the first time I went out of my home province to find a job,
I didn’t want to back home for Chinese New Year.
In
fact, I will never go back unless I have the ability to do something
I really want to do.
So
you can see, working hard and studying hard are the only ways I
can achieve the things I want.
During
this first year in Guangdong province, I have changed my job two
times.
It has been reported that, American people change job at least five
times in their lives, but what about the Chinese?
On
the one hand, as we know, the best virtue of Chinese people is our
patience.
If
the job is not too bad, we don’t want to change to do a new
job you need to adjust to the different situation and environment
of the place first, and that takes time. |
|
 |
On
the other hand, in Chinese traditional culture, most people who go out
to earn money to support their family just want a high paying job.
If they change jobs too often, much money will be spent travelling and
finding a new job.
In
that situation, how can they save money?
For
me, I just finished my education last year, and all the members
of my family had jobs so it was unnecessary for me to support our
family.
Of
course, this gave me enough space to do my own thing.
The
most important thing for me was accumulating experience, and getting
more knowledge in different fields.
I
came to Guangdong province with great ambitions and was happy when
I successfully applied and got my first job in a factory. |
|
 |
However,
something happened to change my mood and opinion. When I first started
work in the factory, the boss gave me a contract and I signed it to work
as a translator in the factory.
But
guess what happened later?
The
boss only let me do manual labour work, sitting and working at the product
assembly line, paying me a low salary and forbidding me from going out
when the factory was busy with producing.
When
I asked for leave (time-off), as I didn’t feel very well, it was
also refused.
So
I changed my job to another factory. Before joining there, I confirmed
that I was to be employed as an assistant of the General Manager, but
the job I was given was the assistant of the Sales Manager.
My
job title and description had been changed without my consent!
And
I was not allowed to go out at noon.
To
make matters worse, the boss didn’t pay all the staff’s
salary on time.
In
order to keep the workers from quitting their factory jobs, they
didn’t give them their money. Why?
All
the money was earned by our work, how could they keep it?
Certainly,
I changed my job again.
Now,
I have grown tired of the treatment I’ve received and described
above, and just hope that I can get a real good and steady job.
I
also hope the bosses can keep their word and treat their employees
better.
All
the people in the world are fair, so if one wants to be successful
in his business, he has to let all the people respect him and enjoy
working for him.
If
not, everything he tries to do will lead to failure. |
|
 |
I
had no money to save when Chinese New Year came, while all my other classmates
told me that they have sent money back home.
But
I have experienced many things.
