See what's cool in Anime! Japanese animation is at the cutting edge of sci-fi, supernatural and fantasy storytelling. Highly innovative, you often find amazing concepts that are executed brilliantly in a manner you won't forget. Here are some of the anime titles that you need to check out.

Rawle Austin presents...

Chobits - A different sort of Android...!

How real is real? Find out in the cool anime series Chobits.

Click here to learn more about the Chobits DVD!

Chobits is created by the all-female Manga team at CLAMP and can be described as the adventures of a boy and his amazing life like computer android.

Hideki is the boy in question and his story begins when he leaves his family's country farm to go to the big city of Tokyo.

When he gets there he's astounded to find and abundance of Persocoms - personal computer androids designed to look and act like people and animals.

A lack of money means Hideko can just about afford the rent so there's no way he can buy a Persocom.

But, in a quirky twist of fate, he finds a discarded Persocom piled up in some rubbish in a local alleyway.

It's designed to look like a cute teenage girl and Hideko adopts it as his own. He names it Chi discovers that though it has a missing Operating System, it still functions.

Could Chi be one of the legendary "Chobits"? A mysterious range of custom built Persocoms thought to possess free will and emotions?

All these questions and more are answered in this innovative series.

Chobits is released by MVM, it's rated PG and I give it 6 out of 10.

Twin Signal - Two can play that game!

A sneeze by any other name...

Click here to learn more about the Twin Signal DVD!

Lots of anime series are based on best selling manga series and this is no different. The manga was written by Sachi Oshimizu and has been adapted into three amazing 30-minute episodes!

Dr Otoi a robotics expert builds a powerful android fighting machine called Signal to act as a guardian to his young grandson Nobuhiko.

Unfortunately, during the building process, a chance sneeze by Nobuhiko causes a glitch in the androids programming.

Basically, everytime Nobuhiko sneezes, Signal is transformed from an efficient battle machine to a child-like ineffective but strangely lovable wreck.

The situation is complicated however by the introduction of Pulse.

This is the prototype android built by Dr Otoi as the forerunner to Signal.

Pulse has been reprogrammed by a rival of Dr Otoi in a bid to steal his innovative robot technology and eliminate all and sundry who get in his way.

Effectively, this series cleverly mixes sci-fi, action and comedy to create an enjoyable viewing.

Twin Signal is released by MVM and is certificate PG.

I give it 6 out of 10 as it's well worth a look.

Full Metal Alchemist - A New Kind of Magic!!!

"Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of equivalent exchange."

And so it begins...

It never fails to amaze me when I witness the sheer ingenuity of anime and the storylines contained within.

None more so than Full Metal Alchemist. This is the story of two brothers Ed and Al and is set in Europe in the early 20th Century in a semi-mythical world.

They are both alchemists, people with the special power to manipulate and transform objects from one form to another.

The story begins when Ed and Al use the forbidden science of alchemy in an attempt to bring their deceased mother back to life.

The plan backfires horribly resulting in a huge explosion.

The accident causes Ed to lose an arm and Al's entire body was destroyed save for his soul that was left hanging in limbo.

Ed managed to transfer Al's soul into a nearby suit of armour at the last minute.

Thus saving Al's very essence but leaving him bitter at the loss of his real body.

In an attempt to restore their bodies and continue the process to bring their mother back to life, Ed and Al embark on a quest to find the Philopher's Stone. This is a mystic gem that has the power to amplify an alchemist's powers.

The only thing is, other people are also looking for this powerful artifact...

This is science fiction and fantasy at its most original and is typical of the quality that anime has always offered. The characters are well rounded and fleshed out making it easy to care about their journeys and lives.

The animation is top notch and the creature designs are out of this world!.

Full Metal Alchemist is based on the best selling manga by Hiromu Arakawa and is a 51 episode series. It's released by MVM Entertainment.

This show is a definite 8 out of 10 for pure class. Check it out!
